Cross-fertilization and trans-disciplinary foresight events

In the earliest phases of the project, SMART-map has organized and held multi-stakeholder Industrial Dialogue events in each innovation topic. However, a number of elements at the interface among Precision Medicine, Synthetic Biology and 3Dprinting in Biomedicine needed to be explored to mobilise a wide array of stakeholders so to favour the emersion of different perspectives, even radical or critical. For this scope, three international cross fertilisation & trans-disciplinary events (CTF events) have been conducted in three different cities in Italy under the leadership of Giannino Bassetti Foundation:

• “Innovation with and for society” (held in Bologna on 20th April 2018), aiming at comparing RRI to other similar industrial approach and strategies to accomplish responsibility towards societal needs in the techno-scientific realm (Corporate Social Responsibility, Social Innovation, B-corps, Inclusive Business, Life Cycle Assessment);

• “Responsible Citizen Innovation” (held in Milan on 21st June 2018), aiming at starting a discussion and a reflection on how to ensure a responsible rewards for citizens and patients engaged within the marketable innovation pipeline of products and services;

• “Tailoring the future healthcare, from precision drugs to printing bodies” (held in Pavia on 6th September 2018), aiming at discussing opportunities and challenges of the convergence of the three innovation topics explored in SMART-map in the healthcare realm.
